Castle Stuart Golf Links is the brainchild of Mark Parsinen, also known for the development of Kingsbarns Golf Links near St Andrews.
The Estate is landlord to Castle Stuart Golf Links but is also a substantial investor in Castle Stuart Golf LLP, the development and operating firm.
The main championship course opened in 2009 to much acclaim. In 2011 it became home to the Scottish Open, a European Tour event. In the same year it was listed as the 56th best course in the world – a remarkable achievement for a course less than 2 years old.
The project has permission for a further course, 2 hotels and 150 timeshare units, which will be built out over the next 10-15 years.
