Moray Estates have received planning permission for a new town of 5000 homes midway between Inverness and Nairn.  The project, which has been independently provided by the Estate, will ultimately be home to 12,500 residents.

The town, which will be built to the principles of traditional urbanism, will be like a traditional market town in character with High Street, neighbourhoods, parks, 3 primary schools, a secondary school and many other social and civic amenities.  The town is expected to take 40-50 years to complete and has been awarded exemplar status under the Scottish Sustainable Communities Initiative.

Work on Phase 1 is expected to start in late 2013 with properties available in mid to late 2014.
